

AS, CERTIFICATE
The Dental Assisting program of study is an 11-month program and provides the opportunity to acquire a Certificate or an Associate of Science degree in Dental Assisting. Classes begin each August with completion of the program the following July. At the completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take both state and national licensure examinations to become dental assistants.
The Dental Hygiene program of study is a two-year Associate of Science degree program that trains students to become dental hygienists. Classes begin in the fall semester each year on a traditional semester schedule, with completion in May of the second year.
Both Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students work in the dental clinic where students provide supervised preventive and therapeutic treatment. This clinic is open to the public as well as to students, faculty, and staff of Los Rios Community College District.
